Project goal
The goal of the project was to accelerate the online store by implementing a new server configuration using nginx as a reverse proxy, along with apache2, php-fpm, and Redis PRO. In addition, caching techniques and read shift to RAM were applied. As a result, the store now handles significant website traffic with an average loading time of 800ms, even without utilizing full page cache. This optimization has significantly improved the overall performance and user experience of the online store.
Solution
The project aimed to address the challenge of slow website performance for the online store. To overcome this, the team implemented a new server setup with nginx acting as a reverse proxy, alongside apache2, php-fpm, and Redis PRO. In addition, they applied effective caching techniques and shifted data reading to RAM. As a result of these optimizations, the store can now efficiently manage a substantial amount of web traffic, significantly reducing the average loading time to 800ms, even without relying on full page cache. This comprehensive approach has led to a remarkable enhancement in the overall performance and user experience of the online store.
